I just love the holidays. Not only is it the perfect time to come together with friends and family, it’s the perfect time to break out your favorite pieces that you typically only use around the holidays. This year as you prepare your home for that intimate dinner for two or a festive gathering of friends and family, I want to share a few (okay – a handful) of my favorite things that I hope will make your holidays happier, your festivities more festive, and your home more stylish!
As females (and regardless of family size), most of us love to break out the china and set the dining room up for holiday gatherings. One of my absolute favorites for this year’s dining room table are the Kim Seybert bejeweled place mats paired with “Confetti” napkins and “Bloom” napkin rings. Designer Kim Seybert has been crafting beautifully beaded and embroidered table linens since 1997. Available in 4 colors, I suggest mixing the colors for either a coordinated or an eclectic look for your elegant holiday table. These pieces are available from Horchow.com with free shipping in time for you holiday celebration.
Another perfect adornment for your holiday table is Seybert’s hand beaded “Noel” table runner. Also available from Horchow.com, this exquisitely beaded poinsettia table runner promises to be a sparkling showcase on the centerpiece of your dining room table.
For a more Colorado themed Christmas, consider Horchow’s pinecone deer figurines. On sale at 25% off (and free shipping), these majestic figures offer “Colorado Elegance” to any tabletop centerpiece or mantle with pinecone texture enhanced by a shimmery silver finish. These fabulous stags are perfect nearly year-round for those of us living in the Rockies!
Ideal for a casual or rustic decorating style, the Pottery Barn Found Vintage Skis are true antiques with many dating as far back as 1910. Each pair retains its own timeworn markings and details such as pointed wood tips with metal and leather bindings. Each set of these vintage skis is unique and ideal for year round decorating. However, the holidays offer a perfect opportunity to add color and texture when decorated with ribbon and greenery.
Another of my favorite things for a more casual decorating style is the Pottery Barn Green Branch Sentiment Hook Rug. This 4’ square rug is ideal in an entry or in front of the fire. Its vivid robins and berry-laden branches are hand hooked from loops of yarn-dyed soft wool.
These are just a few of my favorite things to add cheer and style to your holiday home. Be sure to check in regularly for more tips on how to transform your ordinary living space into a more beautiful and livable home one room at a time!
