In our project, Evergreen Mountain Haven, an oval Native Trails soaking tub anchors the primary bath against a wall of glass that frames the sprawling mountain view beyond. The look of NativeStone–Native Trail’s reinvented concrete–plays beautifully against the crisp mountain light and the warm wood vanity across the room: two natural materials working together in conversation.
Faucets and the Art of the Handl
Unlike many finishes that are simply admired, faucets are experienced firsthand–touched, used, and relied upon every day. They have become a cornerstone for unique material expression. Finishes reach well beyond chrome now: matte black, soft gold, and two-tone split finishes are just the cusp of options available for fixtures.
Brizo is a brand that clearly illustrates how far this has come: they offer several collections that pair sculptural spouts with your choice of knob, lever, or twist-lever handles, offered across a range of finishes—including split finishes available with mother of pearl handle accents that catch the light. At Windy Ridge Oasis, a sculpted glass vessel sink is an example of using different materials that wow: the silver tone picks up the grays in the marble backsplash and plays with the nickel faucet, without feeling all the same. Small guest-facing spaces like powder rooms are often where we’ll take the boldest material swing since they’re used briefly and remembered vividly.
