YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A NATURAL WOMAN – AND SO DO THE 2012 PANTONE COLORS!

pinkWhile this color is hot, its boldness makes it an excellent candidate for an accent choice. How about great toning down P’zazz with one of these hot new “natural” colors being predicted as Spring’s hottest colors for interior design by Pantone Fashion+Home.

Think Pink but with and organic twist called SWEET LILAC (Pantone 14-2808)

While I wouldn’t recommend this color for walls and custom tile, it is perfect accent color for girl’s rooms and guest rooms.  Consider complimenting P’zazz with SWEET LILAC for floral and print wallpaper (yes, it’s coming back), upholstered headboards, luxurious linens, and custom rugs.

Bring the outdoors in with DRIFTWOOD (Pantone 18-1210)

driftwoodThink of DRIFTWOOD as the new neutral.  This subtle color is ideal for any room in your house and perfect for carpet, walls, and upholstered furniture of any kind.  DRIFTWOOD looks rich, luxurious, and contemporary when accented with the rich red-purple (aka P’zazz) or, black.

Get back to nature with MARGARITA (Pantone 14-0116)

margartiaThe perfect wall color, combine the subtleness of MARGARITA with DRIFTWOOD to create a room that reflects nature and creates serenity in your dining room, living room, or spa like bathroom.  Or, for a walk on the wild side, consider MARGARITA as your wall color and combine it with the boldness of P’zazz used on painted focal point wood pieces to create a fun, vintage look to your breakfast nook.

Birds of a feather will flock together with COCKATOO (Pantone 14-5420)

cockatooWhile I personally love this color for my favorite blouse, I’m not a big fan of using it in the entire room! However, if your decorating style is vintage, this color lends itself well to a cottage or farmhouse look when combined with white painted case goods (tables, cupboards, etc.) or white upholstered beds and painted furniture for an inviting guest room.  For a more retro look, use COCKATOO on your walls and bring in a mix of modern and vintage pieces in a variety of colors.  Pull the entire room together with white painted trim, hardwood floors, and a colorful custom rug.

Embrace your eco-sheik side with STARFISH (Pantone 16-1120)

starfishAgain, a neutral color, STARFISH is the new beige and perfect for any room and any interior design style.  It’s an excellent choice as your palette color for wall coverings (whether paint or wallpaper), carpet, or custom window coverings.  But, a word of caution, an all too beige world can become boring!  Make sure to shake it up a bit with bright accent colors like P’ZAZZ.  Remember the nicest thing about using a color like STARFISH as your base; it’s easily updated for each year’s runway Pantone colors or for the holidays right around the corner.
